What are the essentials to slip into your make-up bag in winter?

As the temperatures cooler, there are a few adjustments to be made in her beauty and makeup routine. But what are the best products for the colder months of the year?

Winter is upon us! The temperatures are falling more and more, we want to slip into a blanket with a good hot tea for a cocooning moment. However, there are times when we need to stick our noses out. Wind, rain, cold but also heating damage our skin. It tends to become drier, redder and more sensitive. It is therefore essential to protect it with a beauty routine including in particular serum and moisturizer. Taking care of your skin but also of your eyelashes and eyebrows also involves choosing the right makeup products. What are the winter makeup essentials? The Eyebrow Workshop reveals all its advice.

The foundation

Before thinking about applying make-up to your eyes and eyebrows, it is essential to perfectly even out your complexion. In winter, the watchword is hydration! Indeed, the cold but also the heating make the skin dry. If you tend to go for very rich and heavy textures, covering your skin with a thick layer of foundation is not really recommended. On the contrary, we prefer the lightness! We therefore choose a moisturizing foundation with a liquid texture that will bring an extra dose of hydration to the skin and will not suffocate it. Too thick and too heavy a foundation could make your face drier and reveal fine lines or wrinkles from dehydration.

In winter the light changes, it is colder. Thus, we opt for a foundation with pink undertones rather than yellow. We also avoid too orange colors. We put on a product with iridescent pigments to bring a rosy glow to the skin which will then be radiant with beauty.

The powder

While liquid or cream textures are preferred, some women need to mattify their skin. You can then lightly sweep her face using a mattifying powder to match the color of your skin tone, or else translucent for even more naturalness. For women with dry skin, swap the powder for a hydrating setting mist to allow makeup to last all day.

Concealer

The concealer is a must have, summer and winter. We opt for liquid or creamy textures with light reflecting pigments. A concealer must be slightly lighter than skin tone, generally a semitone lighter than skin tone. We choose satin pink beiges to bring radiance to the eyes. We advise you in particular our concealer concealer Mineclat to brighten your eyes. You can also enhance the brow line by applying a little concealer to the brow bone.

The highlighter

The highlighter isn't just for party or summer looks! On the contrary, it is particularly useful in winter to wake up the complexion. You brighten your face by applying a little pink highlighter above the cheekbones, on the bridge of the nose, the cupid's bow or even under the brow bone to replace the concealer.

Mascara

Like summer, winter is not always mascara-friendly. Weather conditions can dry out the eyes. This may make them cry and therefore run the mascara. Waterproof mascara may be an option, but waterproof formulas are not ideal for an area as sensitive as the eye. You can then opt for eyelash tinting during winter and / or for the Rehaucils® service, which is eyelash enhancement in order to raise them to gain natural length.

Eyeshadows

As with other makeup products, it is recommended to favor light and moisturizing textures. We therefore opt for liquid or cream eyeshadows. As for colors, we choose pink, which is very trendy at the moment, but also blue, purple, red or metallic hues, in particular copper and gold.

What about the eyebrows?

Natural eyebrows are very popular this season. So we can just use the transparent fixing gel Browshape to define, discipline and fix her pretty line. If you have thin or sparse eyebrows, you can fill them in with a pencil or with tinted cream.

The lipstick

Lipstick is currently rather shunned following the compulsory wearing of a mask. In winter, it is better to put on a moisturizing lip balm, colored or not. If we like color, we bet on the trends of the season, red and very dark burgundy.
