How to apply makeup when you have a tan?
In summer, with tanning, your complexion changes, which can disrupt your makeup habits. Here are some tips to enhance your tanned skin.
During the summer holidays, we expose ourselves more to the sun. Our skin therefore tends to tan. But what impact can this have on your make-up? In itself, it doesn't change much. However, a more tanned complexion can change the shades you usually use. To make sure you don't have any unpleasant surprises, follow our best advice for a tanned and radiant complexion.
Ditch your foundation
If you have tanned skin, put away your foundation and stick to moisturizers instead. In the summer, our skin is put through its paces. The sun and high temperatures tend to dry out your skin. Moisturizing your skin daily is therefore essential.
On the other hand, when it's hot, your skin can breathe better naturally. Tanning has the advantage of hiding your small imperfections. However, if you still want to even out your complexion, you can use a tinted BB cream that is as close as possible to the color of your skin tone.
Likewise, if you have dark circles, also remember to hide them with concealer by adapting the shade of your corrector to your more tanned skin.
Brighten your complexion with sun powder
For a brighter complexion, the ideal is to use bronzing powder. There are several shades. Often lighter than foundations, bronzing powder is the ideal solution for a luminous complexion when you have tanned skin.
To apply it well, use a brush. Then, apply your bronzer by drawing the number three starting from the bottom of the jaw to the temples. Finally, go back down following the same movement.
Perfect your tan with blush
For a guaranteed healthy glow, blush will be your best ally. However, remember to adapt the color of your blush to your skin tone. For slightly tanned skin, pink blush will be perfect. For more matte or very dark skin, it is better to use an orange or coral blush.
For a successful yet natural makeup, apply your blush to your cheekbones. However, be careful not to overdo the quantity to keep a fresh complexion.
Add a touch of highlighter
If you want to add a glowy touch to your make-up. You can apply a little highlighter towards the inside of your cheekbones and on the bridge of your nose. If you are wearing eye make-up, you can also apply a light touch of highlighter on the inner corner of your eyes. This will enlarge your eyes and emphasize the color of your eyes.
Intensify your look with colorful eyeshadows
With tanned skin, you can dare to wear color. Your makeup will be even more visible and will intensify your look.
For light eyes
If you have light eyes, peach or gold eyeshadows are the best choice. These colors will highlight the natural color of your eyes and brighten up your look.
For brown or black eyes
If you have dark eyes, taupe and khaki shades can be very interesting. Gold with copper effects will also accentuate your eyes very well.
Should you use waterproof makeup?
If it's hot, don't hesitate to opt for waterproof makeup. The waterproof range is currently available for almost all your makeup accessories ( eyebrow pencil , eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick, makeup pen, etc.). This type of makeup is perfectly suited to summer heat. This way, your makeup won't run and will last all day.
Highlight your eyes with glittery eyeliner
Rather than using a rather classic black eyeliner, you can enhance your tanned complexion by using a tinted eyeliner. Gold, silver or bronze shades are particularly suitable for intensifying your look. For evenings or more festive events, graphic eyeliner and face jewels also go very well with tanned skin.
Bet on a glossy mouth
To highlight your tanned skin, gloss remains the must-have star of the summer. Its light and satiny coloring will add pep to your make-up without giving an overly made-up effect.
If you prefer red lipstick, coral will go perfectly with slightly tanned skin. As for brighter colors, like fuchsia red or garnet, they will perfectly enhance darker skin.
Remember that if you want to stay perfectly made up without having to spend time in front of your mirror every day, or by letting your skin breathe, you can opt for permanent makeup which ensures you look perfect in all circumstances!
